Edward Hansen is a Wyoming native living in the Denver area.
He is a realist working mainly in oil with no formal art training.
Ed started painting in 2005 after retiring from the DENVER FIRE DEPT.
Ed’s first works were a series of paintings of firefighters in action.
He then went on to paint a mural in the DENVER FIRE DEPT. Museum.
His love of the early west is his main driving force and he has been quoted as saying “Painting the west is my passion”.
His interests include landscape, Portrait and wildlife. Ed has won awards including Reserve Champion at the Glenwood Springs fall art festival. Other awards include Best of Show “Art from the Heart” Westminster Colorado. A 2nd at the “National Greeley Art Exhibition” Greeley Colorado. Best of show “Artfully Adams” Adams County Colorado. Honorable Mention “Wyoming Conservation Stamp Competition” and he has been juried into many shows including the 2019 National Fine Art Show at the Lincoln Gallery Loveland Colorado and The Western Spirit Art Show in Cheyenne Wyoming.
Ed is a juried member of the “OIL PAINTERS OF AMERICA”. He has pieces in several private collections from Florida to Jackson Hole Wyoming, Montana and Alaska.
The City of Thornton, Colorado and the City of Brighton, Colorado have three of his works in their collections. He is past Vice President of “PALETTEERS ART CLUB” Westminster, Colorado. And Director of the Art Exhibit at the Adams County Fair Colorado.
Ed is represented in the Main Street Creatives Gallery, Brighton Colorado.
