Meet Kathy Hansen

Headshot of Kathy Hansen

Acrylic Artist

Kathy Hansen is a Colorado-based artist whose work celebrates the charm and spirit of the natural world. Working in both acrylic and scratchboard, Kathy’s pieces range from richly detailed wildlife and expressive barnyard portraits to whimsical scenes full of character. Her distinctive style merges realism with warmth, often bringing a gentle sense of humor or tenderness to her animal subjects.

A member of the Paletteers art club, Kathy has served in many leadership roles, including membership coordinator and director of hanging venues. She has also been co-director of the Art Exhibit at the Adams County Fair since 2011—long before she picked up a brush herself. Her dedication to the arts and her community is reflected in her involvement, as well as her continued growth as an artist.

Kathy has exhibited and sold her work throughout the greater Denver area, earning recognition and awards along the way. She actively hones her craft by attending workshops and collaborating with fellow artists. Today, she creates from her studio at Main Street Gallery in Brighton, Colorado, where visitors can experience the humor, heart, and detail that define her work.
